From Monuments To Mountains......

Hello Friends & Happy Monday!!

I wanted to let all my readers, even though there are very few of you, know that I am still here, and sorry I have not written in a while.  But I moved from my hometown of Northern, VA (D.C. Suburb) to Denver, Colorado at the end of April, and have been insanely busy.

Moving across the country during tornados and flooding and stuff, was a really exciting drive. I had no clue if the road trip was going to take place till about two days before we left because everything went haywire.  But all went well and it was a fun drive.  Man there really isn’t much in Kansas worth seeing.  (Sorry if I am offending anyone).

Getting to CO was fun, and living here has definitely been an adjustment.  More-so because I am away from my family and friends and the life I knew for so long.  I’ve been away from my family plenty but never this far and it’s definitely an adjustment.  But my parents and I are about to start to Skype at night and hopefully that will help since I’ll get to see them (even if it is on a screen).

But B.H.T.W and I are finally in our very own apartment, and I must say I picked a great location for my daily commute to Boulder.  Not to mention, 2 pools, 24 hour gym on premises (which I’d be advised to use if I knew what was good for me), as well as sand volley ball courts, and tennis courts.  Not to mention a beautiful dog park right across from our complex.  This weekend we finally got our bedroom bookshelf put together so we have a place to put our TV in our bedroom, which is lovely.  Amazing how one piece of furniture can make a difference in a room.

I was lucky enough to get a job as soon as I got here and I have learned so much since I started it mid-May, it is unbelievable.  Great culture and great atmosphere, and the people I work with are wicked smart and talented so it’s fun to go to work and be around such an amazing crew of people.  I don’t think I’ve been at a place with a similar culture since I worked for W.W. in Atlanta.  A place that was pretty incredible as far as my personal ad agency background went (in regards to culture).

I need to take a look at doing more outdoor, hiking, and outdoor activities in CO before it gets super cold again, this weather is fabulous right now for mountain activities.  Looking forward for any recommendations from my fellow “coloridianites” (that should be a word) for good places to go on the weekends, that is while I still have weekends with my b.f.

Ok that’s it for me, now everyone knows I’m still alive and well.  You can expect my next post to be more in line with what I typically like to write about, rather than my life story.

Thanks friends & family!
